Adventure Treks
Pisgah, North Carolina
7th
Grade Trip
September - Tues, 13th-Friday, 16th, 2011
Our primary goals in integrating these types of
trips into our middle school agenda is to encourage new
friendships and relationships among the faculty and the kids, to
encourage unique situations that develop character within each
individual, and to encourage an outdoor education that can be
just as valuable as an in-classroom education. We believe that
these types of adventures in the first few months of the school
year are extremely powerful in unifying a student body and
building strong school community. There are so many educational
opportunities that can be addressed outside the classroom. This
type of adventure, exposing them to a wide variety of new
experiences that build self-confidence, self-discipline,
independence, leadership, and community living skills is
invaluable.
