Policies & Grading

IN CLASS EXPECTATIONS:

A.      Students will HONOR & RESPECT all artwork, materials & classmates.

B.  Students make SAFETY at your highest priority while working in the art class!

C.       Students CLEAN-UP after themselves and return ALL materials to their specific place & all personal work in cubby.

D.     Students need to come to class PREPARED for class daily.

E.      Students MAY NOT work on another subject in this class at any time.

GRADING:
5th and 6th grade students are graded on an E, S, and U grading scale for their art exploratory classes.
7th & 8th grade students are numerically graded for their semester studio art classes.
    
25% - Tests, quizzes, outlines & worksheets
    
25%  - Homework & daily preparation in class
    
50% - Overall Process & Final Product- personal effort, application of principles
     & elements explored in class.
    
* There will be one art history paper written near the end of the semester.
      * If you maintain above 90% average in the class you can opt out of exam grade.
