GRADING

The grade students earn will be based upon tests and quizzes, lab reports, special reports/projects, and daily classwork (homework assignments). During a quarter the number of total points students earn is compared with the maximum number of possible points given during the grading period and an average is calculated.

a note about homework - Most homework assignments will be graded according to the level of effort students put into them regardless of whether or not everything is correct, so students are strongly encouraged to ALWAYS have their homework completed by the time it is due. If it is completed, students are given full credit for that assignment. If it is incomplete or undone, students may be assigned to detention where they will complete the assignment and receive no more than half-credit for it in terms of grade points. It is also important that any mistakes on homework assignments be corrected when we go over them during class time.
