Policies and Grading

GRADE SCALE & DETERMINATION: 90 -100 = A; 80 - 89 = B; 70- 79 = C; 60 - 69= D; below 60 = F.

Evaluation for performance is based on homework, quiz, and test grades. 

Quizzes are worth 8 points.  Homework assignments value varies according to the difficulty, and a test is worth 100 points. 

Grades are calculated by adding the scores together and dividing the sum by the total number possible.  Midterm and final exams are worth one fourth of the semester’s grade.  Current grades will be updated on Edline on Thursday each week.

Necessary Resources:

1.  Students will take notes in a spiral notebook.

2.  The textbook for eighth grade history is The American Nation published by Prentice Hall.

3.  We will also use The Constitution of the United States:  An Introduction by Floyd G. Cullop to study the Constitution and Constitutional issues of present day America.
