Mr. Fleming's Philosohpy:
![]()
It is my responsibility to introduce and begin teaching critical thinking, problem solving skills and study habits. Beyond teaching the fundamental content pertaining to standards, teaching students how to learn is as important to the future of their educational career. In order to lead students to a higher level of knowledge, I must discover ways to engage the students in their own learning and present information in relation to their lives. I aim to offer the right pedagogical conditions where students feel empowered and education becomes a meaningful experience where students view themselves as resources and take initiative for much of their own learning. Students benefit from sharing and working with one another and become less reliant on me as their only source of information. I strive to help student’s gain true understanding and comprehension by offering several choices of participation during each unit of study to accommodate students with different learning styles. Active participation in the learning process requires students to make perceptional shifts from being the in-taker of knowledge to a source of knowledge capable of participating in discussions and generating original ideas.Sincerely,
