Dear Parents and Students:

Improving your math grade requires more than listening. It requires that students practice working out problems. This is also how students study math, by working out problems. Students will be successful in math if they:

1. Keep an organized notebook.
2. Take good notes when I am doing examples in class.
3. Pay attention and ask questions the minute they do not understand. Do not wait until test day to ask the questions.
4.Complete homework with your best efforts and correct it as I go over it.
5. Each night look over and think about what we did in class that day. Come to class the next day prepared to ask questions.

Parents- You can tell if your child is doing his or her part by looking at their notebook. Is it organized? Have all missed problems been corrected? They should have been because I went over them in class. Is all the information in the notebook correct, complete and does it make sense to the student?

Please feel free to contact me during the year if you have any questions or suggestions. Either send a note or call the school to arrange an appointment if a conference is needed. I am looking forward to working with you and your child and anticipate a very good year!
