Characters of Yu Yu Hakusho
Yusuke Urameshi is a fourteen year old ex-ghost and current Spirit Detective. He died saving a kid, and because he is a delinquent, the Spirit World, where people go where they die, did not expect him to be nice enough to save the kid. Therefore, his death was unexpected, and Yusuke was given the chance to come back to life. He took that chance, and managed to come back. Now he is a Spirit Detective for the Spirit World, meaning he gets cases to solve, usually involving theives, fighting, and demons. On one of his first cases, he meets Kurama and Hiei, two demons who help him out occasionally. Kazuma Kuwabara as well often helps out Yusuke. His weapon of choice is the Spirit Gun, an explosive blast of energy emitted from the finger tip.
Kazuma Kuwabara is another punk at the school Yusuke goes to. He has a strong sixth sense, and continually picks a fight with Yusuke. Which is rather stupid, considering he's been beaten down over 200 times. Literally. Either way, Kuwabara is a pretty interesting character, though he is often considered comic relief and an idiot. He chooses to use the spirit sword, a sword made of energy that comes from the hand.
Hiei is one of the most intriguing characters in this anime. Unfortunately, I do not know much about his past. There are some episodes covering it in the anime, however I have not seen them. I apologize greatly. Hiei however is a cool character, and an awesome fighter.
When you first meet Hiei he has stolen a sword that turns whoever it slashes into a demon under the weilder's control. He uses the sword on Keiko, Yusuke's girlfriend. Obviously, Yusuke beats him, but almost doesn't.
Hiei uses an evil eye, or Jagan, a regular katana (sword) and fire attacks. His most powerful attack is a dragon made of black flames summoned from the deepest pits of the Underworld.
Kurama is a demon fox trapped in a human body. At least, that's the best way to put it. Yoko Kurama, a great thief, was almost killed by a hunter. He assumed spirit fox form and escaped to the human world, where he possessed a human in embryo, before it had a soul. This allowed Yoko Kurama to survive. When you first meet Kurama, he has stolen a mirror that will grant the user their deepest desire at a cost; your life. Kurama is prepared to use this mirror to save his mother from a disease. Yusuke sacrifices some of his life to allow Kurama to keep living. From then on, Kurama helps out with some of Yusuke's cases.
In the picture, the headshot of the man with the silver hair and fox ears is Yoko Kurama, while the body shot of the young man holding a rose is Kurama's regular form.
Kurama uses plants as weapons, and his favorite attack is Rose Whip.
