He set the record for most touchdown passes in a career at 185.He finished second in national prep history for most passing yards in a career(15,593).He also led his high school,Idependence,to 3 straight state championships and a 46 game winning streak as a 3 year captain and 4 year starter.Led Independence to a No. 3 ranking as a senior and No. 6 as a junior in USA Today's Super 25 Poll.Owned 16 state individual records at the end of his prep career including total offense, passing yards, attempts, completions and touchdown passes.Chose Florida over Texas, Florida State, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Iowa, North Carolina and Tennessee.

A true freshman who had a 6-3 record as the starting quarterback, the highest winning percentage of any freshman QB in the country.Ranked second nationally among all freshmen in pass efficiency, and ninth among all underclassmen QBs in the country.Was one of seven true freshmen to play in every game.
