Curriculum
The topics we will cover are: place value with whole numbers & decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with whole numbers and decimals, fraction concepts, addition, subtraction, & multiplication with fractions, comparing fractions and decimals, measurement: metrics and standard, and basic geometry.
Games / Activities
Several games we will play this year include: The Great Velcro Shootout!, Five for Five, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Sideline Math, Decimal & Fraction Bingo, Decimal &Fraction Memory, Fraction Poker.
In addition we will participate in lots of fun math activities including: Problem of Days, Speed Drills, Pi Day, Geoboards, Fraction Burgers, Clothespins Place-Value, AOL Step by Step Math, The Great Math Race,
Graded Categories and Weight
Your math average is divided into three categories: tests, quizzes, and homework. Tests equal 40% of your overall average. Quizzes equal 35% of your overall average and homework makes up the remainder 25%.

Please visit Net Classroom to find out your current average in math. I usually update grades weekly. If you see an "M" next to an assignment then I am missing "M" that assignment and it is counting as a zero until you have turned it into me. Below is a link to Net Classroom. You will need your username and password. Contact the middle school office if you do not know your username and / or password yet.
