Policies & Grading

Grading Formula:

 Grading will be based on a Total Point system. Students acquire points on homework, participation, quizzes, projects and tests. The ratio of points acquired to points available will be the grade.                        

Academic Expectations:

 Reading assignments for upcoming topics and/or written homework reinforcing material currently being studied should be expected daily.  The amount of homework will generally be light. Announced quizzes will be relatively frequent. A test will be taken at the end of each chapter covered. 

Behavioral Expectations:

Students are expected to observe all school rules as detailed in their student handbooks, as well as any rules of the instructor, and to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful both to their instructor and to one another. Participation in the classroom is critical and therefore encouraged. Any missed quizzes or tests will be made up only if the absence is dutifully justified.

 Extra Help/Assistance:

Any student needing additional assistance should feel free to contact the teacher before, during or after school.  Help earlier than 7:30 AM is available by prior arrangement.
