Meet Mrs. Griffin

I am 30 years old, and I live in Franklin with my husband, our three year old daughter, Annabelle, our one year old son, Gabriel, and our puppy, Mac.

I love my family and friends, my church, sports, music, Alabama Football, and shopping! One of my favorite things in the world to do is teach!  It is a wonderful job, and I love being able to spend my days with such great kids!  BGA is a fantastic school, and I am so happy to be here.  I look forward to spending lots of time with each of the third graders this year!

I graduated from Jacksonville State University, in Alabama, in 2001.  I chose that school because of it's reputation for being one of the best schools for future teachers.  When I was in second grade, I knew teaching was what I wanted to do, and I always kept that goal.  So finding a school that fit well with my future was important.

After graduating from college, I taught a fourth grade class in Jonesboro, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta.  Upon moving to Tennessee, I taught fourth grade at Glenview Elementary School in Nashville.  I moved to BGA in 2006, to teach first grade.  I then taught second grade the next year.  I then got to teach fourth Grade for two years!  Now I am so excited to teach 3rd grade!  In 2008, I was a presenter for the TAIS biannual conference in Nashville.  I was also honored by being chosen as a presenter at the National Differentiated Instruction conference in Las Vegas in July of 2009!  I will get to present at the upcoming TAIS conference in the fall of 2010.  These are new things for me to do, but are very fun and exciting!

I love coming to work each day, and truly love my job!  It is my honor and pleasure to be with these kids each day, and I hope to make their learning experiences rich, meaningful, and fun!
